ABOUT US
Our History…
Chester Vintage Enthusiasts’ Club was formed in 1959 by a group of motoring enthusiasts, with a love for old car motoring.
In those heady days, Vintage or indeed Veteran cars could be bought cheaply and many of the original members used these as daily drivers.
The Club is open to any enthusiasts with an interest in old cars, from Veteran to Classic, but you don’t need a car to join!
A feature of the CVECC is the friendly social atmosphere. Evidence of this is the large number of members who have enjoyed continuous membership for over 10 or 20 years, some longer than this.
The club runs driving tests, navigation runs, meals out social events, an Autumn Trial (Hill climb) etc, spectators are always welcome.
We arrange Club stands at various local car shows and are regularly invited to various motoring events, such as the Oulton Park Gold Cup & Cholmondley Pageant of Power. Many members take part in local car runs, hillclimbs & shows such as Tatton Park.
Club members also benefit from a monthly newsletter which is sent out by email each month, articles and features gratefully accepted through the club’s newsletter editor.
The club is run by a small committee with a Chairman as organiser and speaker, who meet every other month.
The Club is affiliated to the Federation of Historic Vehicle Clubs and also MSA members. We are one of the oldest Chester car clubs.
